What We Do
Thriving Together is a process that brings together "what matters" for the community with what works".
Reduce early childhood development vulnerability by 50%
We believe we can achieve this by engaging parents, community and local services in redesigning their way of working to better support children living in low socio-economic areas.
Thriving Together is not a service model. It is an implementation science process that builds local awareness, capacity, capability and coordination to deliver better results.
The idea for Thriving Together came during a webinar hosted by Healthy Australia to explore the child protection issues within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sector understood the current and emerging child protection issues but felt there was a need for wrap around supports to improve the capability and capacity to support children and parents.
A model for Thriving Together was developed and the model tested as a prototype with the funding from HubHello and Waratah Education Foundation.
The prototype was tested in South Grafton in 2020 and the model was subsequently redesigned from local feedback and a review of the evidence surrounding adverse childhood experiences. The New School of Arts (NSOA) neighbourhood centre and early childhood education and care service acted as the anchor for the prototype.Download Evaluation of Prototype Phase
